Curé Nantais or « fromage du Curé » is an uncooked pressed washed-rind cheese available in various formats. It is matured on spruce wood planks and regularly washed with salt water or, in some cases, Muscadet wine.
The name Curé Nantais is attributed to the fact that this cheese was invented by a Vendean priest during the French Revolution.
It is available in a large format designed for the cheese counter.

Thin, moist orange rind; creamy, shiny, smooth paste.

Flavours & sensory qualities
The rind gives off a pronounced yeasty smell, while the paste has a milder aroma of warm milk. The texture is very soft and creamy in the mouth, and the taste is typical of other cheeses of the region.
